COMO O ELÉTRON FOI DESCOBERTO? (A história do átomo - parte 3)

The History of the Atom: Where did the atom come from?    • DE ONDE VEIO O ÁTOMO? (Física e Filosofia)   The Rebirth of the Atom:    • O Renascimento do átomo   In this third video about the history of the atom, we will study how the electron was discovered. The discovery of the electron did not happen overnight, nor was it the work of a single person, but this discovery is attributed to the British physicist J.J. Thomson. Joseph John Thomson used a Crookes tube to conduct experiments with cathode rays, leading to the conclusion that these rays were formed by very light particles that he called electrons. With this discovery, Thomson proposed a new atomic model, the "plum pudding atomic model," refining the model proposed by John Dalton in 1803. Thomson won the Nobel Prize in 1906 for his discovery.
