All-wise and all-merciful Lord, You who are the Source of all light and knowledge, incline Your ear to my prayer and do not reject the humble plea of ​​my heart. You know how easily the human heart becomes weary from earthly cares and how difficult it is to kindle within itself a thirst for Your word. Therefore, I fall down before You with a request not for human wisdom, but for that quiet thirst that compels the soul to seek You day and night. Listen to me, weak and darkened by ignorance, and kindle within me the fire of sacred curiosity for Your words, that they may not be mere letters on a page, but the living breath of Your Spirit. May I not become satiated with superficial reading, but may a thirst for a deeper knowledge of the Holy Scriptures be kindled within me, as a thirsty person thirsts for water during heavy physical labor. Teach me, Lord, to read not only with my eyes, but also with my spirit. For many read but do not understand; hear but do not discern. Grant me that gentle attentiveness with which one word can illuminate an entire life. Open the eyes of my heart to discern Your character—not through human conjecture, but in the purity of truth. May I see in the Scriptures Your boundless love, Your unfailing faithfulness, Your righteous judgment, and Your profound wisdom, surpassing all understanding. May I know You not as an abstract idea, but as the Living God, with whom I can speak, whom I can trust with my whole soul. Teach me to trust in Your ways, even when they are hidden from my understanding. For often the human mind seeks straight roads, while Your wisdom leads the soul through valleys and shadows, so that it learns to trust in You and not in itself. Fill me, O Lover of Mankind, with that sublime insight which is not sought externally, but is born in the silence of the heart, when the soul, detached from all earthly things, sees You alone, incomprehensibly shining within itself. Strengthen my trust in Your Providence, O Lord. When Your ways seem incomprehensible to me, and circumstances threatening, remind me that You watch over all, that not a single detail escapes Your gaze, and that all things work together for the good of those who love You. Let me cease to rely on my own understanding, but rather commit my whole life into Your hands, knowing that they are the hands of a Father filled with love. Grant me that sublime insight which is not of this world, but comes from Your Holy Spirit. Let my mind be freed from vanity, gather itself in You, and strive toward the eternal. May I see the depths of Your mysteries beyond the lines of Scripture, may I grasp the meaning of the dispensation of salvation, may I feel the breath of the Spirit in every word. Grant that the Holy Scriptures become a garden for me, where every thought is a tree of life, and every parable a path leading to You. May my heart return there again and again, until Your word becomes the breath of my soul. And when I open Your book, open my heart first. As I read the lines, inscribe them in the depths of my life. And may every understanding You grant become not a cause for pride, but a reason for gratitude. Not for vanity or pride do I seek knowledge, Lord, but so that I may love You more perfectly, serve You more sincerely, and trust in You more recklessly. Let knowledge of You purify my heart, soften my will, and elevate my spirit to communion with You. Blessed be You forever, my God, Source of all enlightenment and consolation. Amen.
