When Katha goes home, she simply drives her campervan into nature. She lives in a converted VW bus with Markus. The two don't have an apartment; they've made camping their lifestyle. For them, vacation is always on, even with work and studies. And Lydia, Frank, Sönke, and Bettina do something similar. This film explores the newfound freedom of allotment gardens and van life. Three couples, one idea: a break at home – relaxing in a small space, without expensive trips abroad. It's about breaking free and experiencing open spaces. Some live in their allotment gardens for weeks at a time, providing for themselves and going to work as usual in the mornings – she as a coach, he as an electrician. Others live in their campervans full-time. For them, it's about simplifying, consistently. And the couple behind Camperfaktur, for whom being on the road is a way of life, specializes in custom conversions that anyone can afford for their own individual micro-vacation. The film follows the three couples closely and shows what these little escapes can look like.
