Our experience in Jerusalem was a journey from Mamilla, through the Jaffa Gate, to the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We wanted to continue to the Mount of Olives and the Tomb of the Virgin Mary, but sometimes the city decides otherwise. For us, this day was about the journey, about open and closed gates, about silence, prayer and acceptance.
