The Kuki Couple’s first essay collection, *I Fell in Love with You Even Though We Couldn’t Communicate*, has finally been published. From stories of our childhoods before we met, to the moment we first met, our long-distance relationship as we traveled back and forth between Korea and Japan, living together and getting married, all the way to the moment we became parents. We’ve captured in writing the stories and vivid emotions that couldn’t be conveyed through video. We started writing this book about a year ago, around the time we found out I was pregnant. We wrote the manuscript while awaiting the arrival of our new family, and finished the book as we spent time together watching our child grow. Since it took a year to come to fruition, this book feels even more special to us. We hope this book serves as a small guide for international couples, a bittersweet memory for international married couples, a source of comfort for those in long-distance relationships, a source of empathy for those about to get married, and for those who are currently in love, a book that makes that love feel even more precious.
