Water availability and its equitable distribution are critical to sustainable growth, peace, and security. A basin management plan plays a vital role in this process. This is also true for Ethiopia, which is facing numerous challenges with regards to water security, particularly in the Omo-Gibe Basin. Zablon Adane (World Resources Institute Ethiopia) introduces the basin management plan process and explains how it can support conflict sensitivity, based on the case study of the Omo-Gibe Basin in Ethiopia.
