Kohima City Food Tour | Best Naga Coffee + Naga King Chilli Fried Chicken + Chole Samosa + Biryani
This episode is all about a brief evening food tour in the city of Kohima. We began the journey with our host Nino by visiting Ete Cafe and Roasters. It was a delightful journey into the world of coffee. The barista, with genuine passion, guided us through the intricate process of making Aeropress coffee. His expertise and attention to detail were truly enlightening. Not only did we savor a delicious cup of coffee, but we also learned about the fascinating journey of coffee beans from Kohima. It was a memorable blend of flavors and knowledge. Our next destination led us to the warm and inviting ambiance of Cafe Langom, a humble yet cozy spot that offered a delightful fusion of Middle Eastern flavors with a distinct Naga twist. We indulged in a Middle Eastern-inspired mini platter, which, to our delight, bore the unique imprint of Naga culinary influences. The combination of aromatic spices and local ingredients created a harmonious blend of flavors that was both exotic and comforting. After this we reached the locality of Phulbari for a quick street food tour. The first place over here was a ghugni cart run by a young boy from Bihar. The white pea curry was accompanied by samosa, pakoda or boiled eggs. We opted for samosa and white pea curry and the combo was quite a fun. The whole stretch was dotted with small stalls or food trucks serving momo, sausages, Indian Chinese dishes, etc. Our next find was a yummy plate of chicken momo that was being sold by a young lady. It was a decent one. The final stop was a place selling Hyderabadi biriyani. Coming across this star dish from Hyderabad at the heart of Nagaland was a surprise for us. However it turned out to be quite good and we ended up finishing the whole plate even through we were somewhat full.
