London Walk - 4K - Kensington High Street to Sloane Square via Chelsea Kings Road

London Walk - Wandering around Kensington and Chelsea in West London on a sunny spring Saturday afternoon in April. Starting at High Street Kensington Underground Station, we walk along Kensington High Street and its epic art-deco buildings before turning to wander into the residential streets of South Kensington and its fabulous examples of Victorian and Georgian architecture. From there we head north in to Hyde Park to walk past the impressive The Albert Memorial, before crossing back into Kensington again to walk around the stunning Royal Albert Hall. Next we find ourselves walking down Exhibition Road, a grand avenue that is home to some of the finest museums in all the world, London's Science Museum, the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum) and the Natural History Museum, which we pass along the way. We take a quick detour into the fantastic new pre-historic garden of the Natural History Museum, with it's fossil trees and ancient plants crowned by 'Fern', the awe-inspiring bronze diplodocus skeleton that transports you back to the days of the Dinosaurs. From there we again head south back into the streets of Kensington, passing by the shops and cafe's surrounding South Kensington Underground Station, before heading into the streets of Chelsea. Home to London's elite, Chelsea is again awash with fantastic examples of Victorian and Georgian architecture, and remains one of the London's most desired places to live. We then meet up with King's Road, Chelsea's High Street, and walk past it's many high-end shops and boutiques and cafes along the way. We take a quick detour to past by the entrance to the famous Saatchi Gallery, on of London's finest art-gallery's showcasing contemporary art.
