Episode 3 - The Best Day on our BMW GS’ yet? Empty Roads, Forests and an incredible Biker Hotel...

Could this be the perfect motorcycle touring day? In Episode 3 of our European Tour, we leave the fantastic Bikers Bed France in Dun-sur-Meuse and set off towards one of the most unique motorcycle destinations we've ever visited – Motor Hotel La Mouche in Le Clerjus, France. The weather is glorious from the moment we leave, with temperatures eventually reaching 31°C as we carve our way through some of the quietest roads we've ever ridden. Sweeping bends, rolling countryside, forests, hills and picturesque French villages make this one of those days where every mile feels special. Before leaving, we say goodbye to Ian at Bikers Bed & Breakfast. His knowledge of local WW1 and WW2 history, combined with his incredible stories and hospitality, made this one of the highlights of our trip. If you're touring this part of France, we can't recommend this place highly enough. As we ride south, we pass through the Verdun region, seeing military cemeteries and reminders of Europe's history before the scenery begins to change dramatically. The open farmland gives way to forests, hills and a completely different style of French architecture. At one point the roads become so deserted that we stop in the middle of nowhere, with not a single vehicle in sight in either direction. We also stop at the beautiful Auberge du Coney, enjoying a riverside break surrounded by stunning scenery before continuing deeper into rural France. Along the way we give an update on our BMW R1300 GS and GSA. So far the verdict is simple: faultless. The bikes are performing brilliantly and, if anything, we're needing breaks before they do. Even the exhausts are starting to develop that gorgeous golden colour that comes with miles well travelled. Our destination is Motor Hotel La Mouche – a true motorcyclist's paradise. Hidden away in the French countryside, this dedicated motorcycle hotel is packed with character, memorabilia and biker history. The huge barn provides secure parking for the bikes, while the accommodation and surroundings are simply stunning. We take you on a full tour of the property and launch the drone for some spectacular aerial footage that really shows just how special this place is. And the adventure is only just beginning...
