One is an MCM Hollywood Regency designer home filled with chandeliers, marble accents, and European flair. The other is a 1960s family house packed with garden treasures, well-loved books, and unexpected collectibles. We begin by stepping into a mid-century modern dream near Three Tree Point in Burien, Washington. Think cranberry glass, French bergère chairs, and pink poodle figurines—all tucked inside a collector’s haven. A lingerie chest priced at just $15 gives us hope, and the finds only get better from there: Fiesta ware, Metlox pottery, Golden Girls-style rattan, and nostalgic pieces from our childhoods. We get a surprising deal on some fabulous wall decor, then we head uphill to neighboring Des Moines for something entirely different...a cozy home brimming with stories, where every shelf tells a tale. In the basement and garden, we spot concrete pagodas, NFL memorabilia, whimsical gnomes, and timeless wire furniture. Even a Mara of Mexico mug and a Stockholm rose vase turn up for just a few dollars! From vintage kitchenware and anti-smoking posters to lapis pendants and wire tables from the 1950s, every corner held a surprise.
