The Reviewers got it Wrong - Echoes of Aincrad In Progress Review

The reviewers got Echoes of Aincrad wrong. In this Review in Progress, I break down my experience with the game through Cardinal Rank 3 while playing on Very Hard difficulty with Death Game Mode enabled. I directly respond to criticism from IGN, RPGFan, and IAmWaved, especially their claims about exploration, progression, combat, pacing, enemy variety, and the game’s overall design. My experience has been dramatically different. Echoes of Aincrad offers meaningful character progression, deep weapon and equipment customization, hidden quests, optional bosses, unmarked dungeons, scripted ambushes, evolving enemy mechanics, and an excellent partner and Switch system. Death Game Mode also gives the game real tension by deleting your save if you die. This is not my final review. I will publish a complete review after finishing the game. For now, this video explains why I believe many negative reviews failed to engage with the game’s deeper systems and may be discouraging players from experiencing something special.
