Dans une galaxie près de chez vous (abbreviated DUG, DUGPDCV, Dans une galaxie) is a Quebec television series consisting of 65 half-hour episodes written by Claude Legault and Pierre-Yves Bernard and broadcast between January 25, 1999, and November 25, 2001, on Canal Famille and later on VRAK.TV. It was subsequently rebroadcast on Unis1. Conceived as a children's program, the series quickly gained a large adult following. Watched by a very wide segment of the Quebec public, it is considered a cult classic. This series tells the story of the crew of the Canadian spaceship Romano Fafard in the year 2034. They are searching for a new home planet for humanity, nicknamed the Tatas, as Earth has become uninhabitable due to pollution. Two films have also been made based on the series. A third film is planned for release.
