Iparragirre (1820-1881), poeta y músico, autor del himno vasco "Gernikako arbola", compuso la canción "Nere etorrera lur maitera" (más conocida por el primer verso, "Ara nun diran") al regreso de un largo exilio. El tenor donostiarra Carlos Munguía hizo una excelente y emotiva versión con orquesta, dirigido por el maestro Tejada.
