Some stories don't just exist to be told, but to explain why we exist. Before the Redwood Foundation took its first step in Brazil, there was only one mother and a tireless search for dignity. It was the strength of Caroliny Cirino and the smile of Maria Elisa, a child with cerebral palsy, that shaped the beginning of our journey on Brazilian soil. Maria Elisa was our first patient. But, more than that, Carol's journey showed us a reality that couldn't be ignored: hundreds of families were lost, needing information, support, and guidance to obtain the appropriate treatment. Years have passed. Today, we walk alongside hundreds of families... but the heart of the Foundation remains back there, with Carol and Maria Elisa.
