One Week Later: My Diagnosis, Recovery & Getting My Life Back
In today’s video, I’m sharing a follow-up to last week, when my travels came to a sudden stop because I was in too much pain to continue. After weeks of struggling with severe knee, hand and facial joint pain, I finally have a diagnosis — and the difference just one week of treatment has made is incredible. This is an honest update about travelling in retirement when things go wrong, what it’s like to manage a possible autoimmune condition abroad, and how I’m working on healing both my body and mind while slow travelling. 💬 In this video I talk about: • Getting a diagnosis while travelling full-time • How I’m improving after steroids and treatment • Living abroad with autoimmune symptoms • The mental health impact of travel stopping suddenly • How I’m adjusting my expectations and routines • Diet, mindset and lifestyle changes I’m making • A realistic look at retiring without a home base when health issues appear If you’re a retiree travelling the world, living abroad with chronic pain, or dealing with an autoimmune condition on the road, I hope this video brings comfort and shows you you're not alone. My journey isn’t perfect — but it’s real. And this week, for the first time in a long time, I finally feel hopeful again. 🌍 Subscribe for more: Early retirement travel, living abroad updates, managing health issues on the road, cost of living abroad, and honest weekly life updates.
