"I couldn't have imagined that I would become a temporary foster parent for one of my students." Juriaan Visser is a teacher and mentor at the Praktijkschool in Hoorn and noticed that students really missed school. "During the coronavirus pandemic, you experience how a school provides a stable and safe environment for children. Because there's extra stress from being at home in a family with, for example, little money, parents being unexpectedly laid off, or living in very cramped quarters. I've always felt it was very important that I could do more than just transfer general knowledge." During the crisis, Rowena, one of Juriaan's students, moved in with him.
