Click here to learn more:   / spiltmilt   As lakes stratify in summer Kokanee become trapped in a band of cold water. In most lakes this band will be between 30-50' deep. Goldilox is a dodger designed specifically with targeting Kokanee in these stratified lakes. Early in the morning Kokanee can often be feeding shallow as they follow zooplankton on its diel migrations. Sometimes these Kokanee will even feed in warmer than ideal water as shallow as 20'. Here pink and reds are the most effective colors for Kokanee. As Kokanee drop throughout the day to ideal water temps between 54-58 F orange and chartreuse become more productive colors. This dodgers base is glow moonjelly to entice those pre-dawn bites and once the sun comes out the magic of moonjelly does its work. Goldilox is taped and painted on a ‪@jktacklellc‬ MK3 blank that offers a high cadence thump that is productive in ideal Kokanee water temperatures.
