Radius Ball Turner MKll - Boring Head/Tool Post Version, Part On
Well, the 'conventional' ball turner we recently made as an experiment wasn't overly successful - too many limitations in many respects. So - now we go off at a different angle and make one utilizing a boring head on a long arbor/shaft, which runs through a 1" square bar mounted in the tool post - a design seen used successfully by a few folks. Leaving aside the cutting efficiency with the current tool bit (yet to be determined), we can at least have a good range of radius choice. For now we just show the build (here part one, part two to follow shortly) -- it is hoped soon to do a separate video with the tool in use.
