Johnny 7 - Episode 8 (August 20, 1964) Johnny 7 was a television variety show that aired in three seasons and 22 episodes from August 8, 1963, to July 17, 1965, on Programma Nazionale (National Program), and for the second and third seasons, on Secondo Programma (Second Program). This musical show featured the great singer Johnny Dorelli for the first time in 1963 as a brilliant television host. In the first season, which aired from August 8 to September 19, 1963, he was supported by Giuliana Lojodice, Joao Gilberto, and Béatrice Altariba. In the second season, which aired from July 2 to August 20, 1964, he starred with Gigliola Cinquetti and Paola Pitagora. In the third season, which aired from May 29 to July 17, 1965, he starred with Didi Perego and again with Paola Pitagora. The first two series aired on Thursdays, while the third aired on Saturdays; it was broadcast during the summer with pre-recorded episodes. The program, hosted by Eros Macchi, Maurizio Jurgens, Francesco Luzi, and Guido Castaldo, was an evening variety show with all the classic ingredients of the "light" genre. It was particularly carefully crafted because it was pre-recorded, featuring dance routines, sketches, and songs performed and sung by the many guests who participated in the show. In the spring of 1966, before moving to radio with "Gran Varietà," Dorelli presented a variety show similar in content, with the different title "Johnny Sera." For the second season in 1964, there were three theme songs: "L'appuntamento" and "L'amore viene e va," sung by Johnny Dorelli, and "Tutte meno una," sung by Gigliola Cinquetti. The songs were later released on a 45 rpm record by CGD titled "Le sigle di Johnny 7." For the third edition in 1965, Dorelli presented several songs – one for each episode – which were then collected in a LP entitled "Viaggio sentimentale".
