Mastering Wet Into Wet Washes And Form - A Beautiful Watercolor Painting Of A Great Blue Heron
Wet into wet watercolor washes are challenging for most artists who are just beginning their journey. It's easy to get blooms and blossoms or overwork your painting. In this video I demonstrate how to create beautiful washes while letting the paint flow one color into the next. Painting backgrounds can be tricky. Usually it's best to paint them first. Creating form or the fullness of thee Great Blue Heron requires value contrast. The process is similar to the background in that it's still working wet into wet paint. To achieve the feathers at first it's more of a dry brush effect. Finally in the upper layers of the feathers I use White Gouache. Please join me in painting this beautiful bird or just watch process unfold to create a lovely painting. Cheers!
