The Gowa Regency DPRD's Special Committee (Pansus) for the Right of Inquiry held a follow-up meeting on Monday (June 29, 2026) in the Gowa Regency DPRD Meeting Room to hear testimony from legal experts. The meeting featured three speakers: Prof. Dr. Hamsah Halim, S.H., M.H., MAP, an expert in State Administrative Law; Prof. Dr. H. Said Karim, S.H., M.H., CLA, an expert in Criminal Law; and Fajrul Rahman Jurdi, S.H., M.H., an expert in Constitutional Law. The meeting was part of the Gowa Regency DPRD's investigative process in carrying out its oversight function regarding three objects of the right of inquiry: alleged irregularities in the procurement of free school uniforms for the 2025 Fiscal Year, alleged abuse of authority in the cancellation of the doctoral scholarship program, and alleged violations of ethics and the oath of office of the Gowa Regent, which are deemed to have impacted the administration of regional government. In the forum, Gowa Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Member Dian Purnama Sari shared her views from a woman's perspective. She believed that public debate had focused too much on the pros and cons of the cases under discussion, while she believed the impact on those who were victims, particularly children and families, had received less attention. Dian stated that she considered the incidents being discussed by the Special Committee to have the potential to cause psychological and social impacts on affected families. She also linked this issue to the regional government's vision, which includes protecting women, children, and vulnerable groups. Furthermore, Dian questioned the legal aspects of the Gowa Regent's previous statement calling the circulating issue a hoax. She sought the opinions of experts, particularly from constitutional law and criminal law perspectives, regarding the consequences if statements contradict the facts revealed during the investigation. In her presentation, Dian also cited the case of former United States President Bill Clinton as an illustration of the importance of integrity and morality for a leader in the public sphere. She argued that a regional head must be a role model because every action can influence public trust. The Special Committee for the Right of Inquiry hearing took place as part of the Gowa Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD)'s investigative mechanism. To date, the in-depth investigation into the three objects of the right of inquiry is still ongoing and has not yet produced a final conclusion or decision.
