From humble beginnings in Shawnee Mound, Missouri, he rose to become a member of the prestigious Paul Whiteman Orchestra in New York during the 1920s, where he was featured live and on film playing all three of his instruments. His incredible version of “Pop Goes the Weasel” stands as the ultimate example of musical clowning, mixing genuine talent with side-splitting physical hijinks.
