ND Mode - Neurodiversity in the Workplace
Developed by BBC CAPE, ND Mode was a unique initiative run by the cognitive design team from BBC UX&D, exploring neurodiversity in the workplace. Neurodiversity is a relatively new term representing hidden disabilities or cognitive differences such as autism spectrum conditions like dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and Tourette’s, as well as learning disabilities. This film takes the perspective of someone who is neurodiverse and allows the viewer to experience the physical and sensory challenges they would face in a typical day at work. The film employs an innovative gaming style to engage its audience in a creative way and increase awareness of these often misunderstood and misrepresented conditions.
