Flounder Fishing- Jim's Special Jig - Barnegat Light

My son Rhys and I went down to Barnegat Light House to try our luck for the first time fishing from the rocks. Temps have been in the mid 90's and I have not fished for several weeks, this day was July 20, 2020 and it was 95 degrees but tolerable at the shore . The bite was subtle as the fish were sucking in the bait and swimming and needed the gradual hookset. We ended up with 9 fish, 6 shorts and 3 keeper size, I couldn't get all on camera for fear of the go pro overheating . One fish was taken on a gulp shrimp and bucktail the others were taken on the Jim's special jig with gulp swimming mullet. Tips for the next trip will be to definitely wear spikes on the rocks it's tricky to tell which rocks are slippery sometimes and I will use an extendable handle for the net!
