I've been asked about this guest more times than I can count and honestly, sitting across from Brooke McIntosh in the studio today felt like a full circle moment. Brooke is the fastest woman to run around Australia. Two hundred and four days. Tens of thousands of kilometres. For mental health. As a volunteer. (We talk about that.) But this episode is so much bigger than the run. We go deep, fast, which is the only way I know how to do it, and within the first few minutes we're already in addiction, family estrangement, suicide, and what it actually means to love someone enough to let them hit rock bottom. I share something I rarely talk about publicly, my brother's own journey through addiction and the moment I told my mum if she gave him one more dollar, I would walk away. Brooke shares the reality of watching her younger sister spend four years on the streets, and why going hands off was the hardest and most loving thing her family could do.
