Tomotaka Sekiya Bassist of the danceable jazz band "TRI4TH" and leader of the jazz band "Kurofune," which combines the traditional Japanese art of Tsugaru shamisen with shimauta (traditional Okinawan folk music). He graduated from the LAMA Bass Department and the Berklee College of Music Jazz Composition Department. In 2012, he released his own album, "Live at Last Waltz," featuring Hideo Yamaki and Akira Inoue. He is active both domestically and internationally, transcending genre boundaries. He has headlined Japantag, one of Europe's largest Japanese festivals, with Kurofune, and performed at rock festivals such as SUMMER SONIC and FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL with TRI4TH. He also provides music to artists with the music production team "MISSING Sound Tracks" and has published the instructional book "Practice Methods to Guarantee You'll Be Playing Jazz Bass in 3 Years."
