Tip Of The Spear - Halo Reach Symphonic Rock/Metal Cover

This was the first Halo game I played and definitely enjoyed a lot! Out of all the tunes from the Halo games I've played, this is definitely the one that stuck out the most to me, and I'm glad I've gotten around to covering this! Halo is pretty well known for it's incredible orchestral music, so I thought it was fitting for an orchestral symphonic metal cover! Transcribing this one was a pain, and I can only hope I did the original justice, but luckily the metal guitar parts came pretty naturally, the 12/8 timing definitely helped when coming up with cool riffs. I also decided to throw in a little nod by adding a section of a riff heavily inspired by Dream Theater, leave a comment if you can guess the song I took it from! In terms of playing, it wasn't too difficult, most of the difficulty just stemming from the large fretboard as this was arranged for my 8 string. And while I didn't play all the orchestrations, I definitely wanted to play some of them, which definitely helped improve my keyboard playing! As you'd expect, this mix for this one took longer than usual for a behemoth project like this, with well over 40 tracks, but I think we got it right in the end.
