German Expressionism - From Caligari to Hitler
German Expressionism was an artistic school of thought that emerged in Germany during the inter war period where the artists inner thoughts and feelings were privileged over the actuality which was at the surface of the works they were producing. It also gave rise to some of the more interesting works which sought to explain the horrors of war which had just been and also prophesies the one which was yet to come.
