With Greataly Food we take you to Piedmont, to Borgata Quaglia in the municipality of Venasca (Cuneo), a place where time seems to have stood still. In this tiny village, now home to only three inhabitants, smoke finally rises once again from the old communal oven — once the beating heart of the community. In this video we follow Davide, Master Baker, who with great professionalism and deep respect brings back the bread of the past. It’s an emotional journey of flour, effort, and memory — rediscovering the authentic roots of this land. It all began 5–6 years ago with a shared project between Davide and a close friend who has since passed away: reopening the old hamlet oven (150 YEARS OLD!) in Venasca, left unused for far too long. Today, Davide carries on this mission with the event “Forni Narranti” (“Narrating Ovens”), transforming water, flour, and memory into bread that tastes of home and history. Davide guides us through the challenge of managing an “old and untamed” oven, heated with wood, where there are no precise digital thermometers — just experience, intuition, and heart. “I couldn’t fail today”: in Davide’s words lies the responsibility of those who safeguard an ancient craft and offer it back to the community. 📍 The Event: The video was filmed during a guided walk discovering the old ovens of Venasca. 🔗 Info and details: https://www.comune.venasca.cn.it/novi... #ArtisanalBread #WoodFiredOven #ItalianTradition #craftsman #bakery #panettone #ItalianArtisan #handcraftedbread #pizza #ItalyTourism #greatalyfood
