15th Annual IAS/Kress Lecture in Bologna from Dr. Sean Roberts
This is the 15th Annual IAS/Kress lecture funded by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. This year, the IAS is excited to be partnering with the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico Artistici to bring the lecture back here to Bologna. This 2026 speaker is Dr. Sean Roberts. Sean Roberts is a former IAS President and currently, Teaching Professor in the School of Art at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The lecture was held at the Dipartimento delle Arti, Università di Bologna on Tuesday 26 May 2026. The title of Dr. Roberts lecture is "Francia, Michelangelo, and the Problem of Metal." Note: the lecture recording visuals have been modified because of file issues, but the sound is complete and original from the day.
