Perry's resignation was accepted by President Prabowo Subianto after the government received an official letter on Sunday (July 26, 2026). According to the Bank Indonesia Law, the position of BI Governor will be temporarily held by Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti until a permanent governor is appointed. Perry was the first BI Governor appointed during President Joko Widodo's administration in 2018. He was then entrusted with leading the central bank for the 2023-2028 term.
