Journalist Steve Fisher, author of the Los Angeles Times report on alleged investigations by U.S. authorities against Morena party governors Alfonso Durazo Montaño and Américo Villarreal Anaya, defended the published information and asserted that both state leaders have had their U.S. visas revoked. During an interview with Grupo Fórmula, Fisher stated that, although the governors can enter the United States, they do so through a special permit called Significant Public Benefit Parole, used in certain cases by U.S. authorities. The journalist clarified that he could not confirm whether both officials are cooperating with investigations, but maintained that his sources confirmed the existence of the inquiries. These statements come after the governments of Sonora and Tamaulipas categorically rejected the publication and asserted that the allegations are baseless.
