Compared to the challenging ascent during the early days of the trek, the return journey feels much faster, smoother, and more relaxing as you descend through the dense forests of Sikkim. The trail quickly drops towards Sachen with long downhill stretches surrounded by lush greenery, waterfalls, wooden bridges, and the soothing sounds of the Himalayan wilderness. From Sachen onwards, the route continues with gradual ups and downs while steadily losing altitude. Though the last section throws in a few surprise climbs to test your tired legs, the excitement of reaching Yuksam keeps your energy alive till the very end.
