Day 1 of the island chapter — we caught an 12 PM flight from DMK Airport straight to Phuket, and the moment we landed we could feel the real island vibes were about to start. From the airport, we grabbed a taxi to Bang Rong Pier and boarded a ferry across to the island — thats our first ferry ride with sea opening up in front of you. Once we arrived at Koh Yah Noi - quiet, untouched, and exactly the kind of slower island pace we wanted, we rented bikes and rode straight to our room to check in — nothing beats exploring a new island on two wheels. After dropping our bags, we couldn't wait any longer and headed straight out to explore. As evening rolled in, we found a pier looking out over open water, and right as the sky darkened, a thunderstorm lit up the horizon — we sat there just watching the lightning flash across the sea, one of those unplanned moments that ends up being the best part of the day.
