Chainsaw crank, main seal and bearing wear issues using Stihl MS362 cranks.
The MS362 is a good, robust saw, but like any saw under hard and frequent use with less-than ideal maintenance, issues can develop that mean a rebuild is needed. This video, shot with a gopro and unedited looks at my opinion on some of the issues and why they occur and how to avoid - good maintenance! Blueing of steel occurs at around 260C (540F) and the second right hand main bearing is out of a Stihl, not a Husky. You can remove the surface to remove the colour but the properties of the blued steel will still have been changed.
