I don’t think the town of Verea was ever truly abandoned. Just… left behind. Forgotten in the paperwork. People around here still say the IRD owns it—technically, they’re probably right. Some even claim they’ve heard machinery humming inside the main towers late at night. That is, when they’ve dared to slip past the IRD’s perimeter watchmen. The company moved operations years ago, up into the mountains—brand-new facilities, brighter lights, everything clean and efficient. Verea was supposed to be shut down for good. So why keep it sealed off? Why maintain a guard rotation for a place that no one’s supposed to care about?
