In today’s video, I’m sharing my personal experience with building core strength after ostomy surgery, what actually helped me regain strength, and how I’ve gotten stronger over time without following a traditional workout routine. After my surgery, I felt incredibly weak and honestly couldn’t imagine ever feeling strong again. Having a stoma creates a permanent opening in your abdomen, which can make movement and exercise feel even more intimidating. But over time, I realized something important — building strength doesn’t always have to come from intense workouts or structured routines. In this video, I talk about: Why ostomates are at higher risk for hernias How to safely begin moving again after surgery The importance of getting cleared by your surgeon Simple chair exercises you can do to engage your core How everyday movement (walking, gardening, carrying your baby, daily tasks) can naturally build strength Why “exercise” doesn’t have to look like the gym I also share how postpartum life and simply living my day-to-day life has helped me become one of the strongest I’ve felt in years — without setting aside time for traditional workouts. ★ Consider donating your 𝙪𝙣𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 or 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙨 to Friends of Ostomates Worldwide! https://www.fowusa.org/donate/ PO Box Info: PO Box 5 Pipersville, PA 18947 For 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 & 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 requests ONLY, please reach out at [email protected]!
