Apart from being a bit confused at the beginning, I get what he was trying to say with this song, but it wasn't as relatable to me as the others Iv'e listened to. My mindset (and close friends/family) do not align with what Tom thinks a black person would be mad about. The issue I see with this song is that it paints black people in America as a monolith, when many of us come from different backgrounds. There are some harsh realities he pointed out and yes they still need to be addressed. I personally think it would be a lot more effective if he went and spoke to the people who he's speaking for and get their opinions on video.
