Sapa - Luxury stay at the stunning Hotel de la Coupole Room Tour of Deluxe Suite, Moana & Fansipan

Last time we came to Vietnam Helen wanted to go into the mountains towards the China border. Last week you saw our train ride to Sapa and today this is our stay for 7 days at the Hotel de la Coupole and visiting some of the sights in between the rain. Sapa is the City in the fog and this is a vary accurate description to what you should expect. The majority of the activities are outdoor and being here in the dry season is an advantage. The hotel is a Bill Bensley designed masterpiece and it is truly stunning. From the moment you walk through the door you know this is a bit different. The hotel is famous and everybody knows it. The number of people who want to get their instagram moment in the hotel is truly shocking. The place is totally overrun and the fact this was the 80th Anniversary of Independence meant that was a very busy hotel. The view from the balcony is amazing, when the fog clears and the rooftop bar view of Fansipan is spectacular, for about 10 minutes in 7 days! Next we head to Moana to see more of the Instagram population in their natural environment of props and views. It really is worth the trip for the views, on a dry clear day. We then tackle Fansipan, the longest ascending cable car in the world. The chances of getting to the top and getting a clear view is pretty low but it is still worth the trip. The Cable Car is over 20 minutes and leaves from the back of the hotel making the Hotel the perfect place to start your stay. Sapa is a completely different experience to any where else you have been to in Vietnam. Add it to your list.
