Ar-Raḥmān: tender crescendos on “فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ” that invite reflection and remembrance. An-Naṣr: dignified, thankful tone capturing victory, tasbīḥ and istighfār. About Shaykh Ḥajjāj al-Hindāwī Born 12 January 1979 in Bahramas (Bahrams), Imbābah, Giza, Egypt, he began memorising the Qur’an at age 7 and completed ḥifẓ by age 12. Among his early teachers were Shaykh Ḥusayn ʿAbdu Yūsuf and Shaykh Ṣubḥī Aḥmad ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, with additional guidance from his brother Shaykh ʿĪd al-Hindāwī, a teacher of Qur’an and Qirāʾāt. He refined his tajwīd under Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿĀṭī Maḥmūd Ṭuʿaymah (ʿAṭiyyah Ṭuʿaymah) and pursued further formal study at the Institute of Qirāʾāt in Cairo. Encouraged by the late master Abū al-ʿAynayn Shaʿīshaʿ (then head of the Egyptian Radio Readers’ Committee) and broadcaster Maḥmūd al-Saʿdānī, he successfully passed the stages of evaluation and was approved as a reciter for Egyptian Radio & Television around 2000, featuring in Qurʾān al-Fajr broadcasts and national religious occasions. In 1998, after taking first place in a national recitation competition of Egypt’s Ministry of Awqāf, he was invited to recite before President Muḥammad Ḥusnī Mubārak—a moment that helped elevate his public profile. He later participated in major state and community events, including high-profile funerals and commemorations.
