This is considered an important milestone in the project's completion, aiming for commissioning on September 2nd. As one of the iconic infrastructure projects in the city center, the entire construction force is striving to accelerate progress with a high sense of responsibility. In the bridge and access road construction package (XL01), hundreds of engineers and workers are maintaining continuous work in 3 shifts per day, regardless of the hot weather conditions. The work volume has now basically completed the structural part, preparing to enter the finishing phase. Mr. Nguyen Song Ky Hieu, Project Director of the XL01 construction package, stated that the construction volume has reached over 90%. Teams are simultaneously working at both ends of the bridge to ensure the completion of the approach roads according to schedule. Besides the rough construction and structural elements, the project is also preparing for the construction of railings, final painting, and other aesthetic elements to meet the landscape requirements for this landmark project in the city center, as per the initial commitment. Regarding the XL02 construction package, the contractor is currently deploying four construction teams, focusing on bridge piers, bored piles, steel reinforcement installation, and preparing for concrete pouring. The volume completed has reached over 43%. Mr. Dang Xuan Hai, Project Manager of the XL02 package (Dat Phuong Company), stated that the project involves many interwoven construction items such as the pier base, spiral staircase, water tank, pumping station, shower tower, embankment system, and technical connections. Although each item has a relatively small volume, the overlapping implementation has affected the progress, requiring the contractor to organize continuous 3-shift construction. In District 2, there are 3 remaining piles to complete the foundation. The main foundation of the piers is expected to be completed in May, while the scaffolding structure is expected in June or extending into early July. According to the contract, the completion date is September, but the basic items are targeted to be completed before July 30th. From a supervisory perspective, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung stated that the unit organizes continuous 24/7 supervision, arranging 3 shifts and 4 teams to work and maintaining a workforce on the construction site. Due to the unique nature of the project, the supervisory unit always coordinates closely with the contractor to ensure construction methods meet both labor safety requirements and project deadlines. The goal is to complete the entire structural work in July and hand over the project to the city in September. Regarding the overall project, Mr. Le Van Phu, a member of the Project Management Board under the My Thuan Project Management Board, stated that the construction volume has currently reached approximately 50%. The project is focusing on the foundation and reinforcement components, striving to complete the bridge before August 15th and put it into operation in time for the September 2nd holiday. The Management Board is strengthening its direction and coordination with the contractor and the supervisory consultant to ensure quality, progress, and safety, aiming to complete the project on schedule. The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River has a total length of 720 meters, designed in the shape of a coconut leaf, with a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND funded by Nutifood Company. Upon completion, the project is expected to become a new architectural highlight of the city.
