He served in the Gambian national Army before going to serve with the NPFL rebel as a fighter for Charles Taylor of liberia. He traverse the length and breadth of Liberia including, Gbarnga, Buchanan, Bentol, Greenville, Harper, Tubmanburg, Robertsport, etc.. He has categorically denied ever seeing Foday Sankoh of Sierra Leone in Liberia. In fact, he claims he never saw a Sierra Leonian rebel in Liberia
