Try this hike on an Old Logging Trail

Found an old logging trail (not hard to do as they are everywhere) and checked it out. Years ago the loggers used horses to move logs, gather them, and haul to sawmills. Most of them now are covered with ponderosa pine poletimber size (POL), and mature trees. Also, back in the day, many small mines sprung up around the Hills. Minerals such as gold, beryl, copper, lead, zinc, and other items such as tin, lithium, and pegmatite were actively mined in the late 1800's into the mid 1900's. Of course, the gold rush in the 1870's was the most notable. The overwhelming influx of people was impossible to stop...violating the 1868 Ft Laramie Treaty with the Sioux.
