Eremo di Gamogna

A necessary correction: at 1:40, I reported incorrect information, stating that La Verna is located outside the Park boundaries. This is not the case; I apologize. A short excursion to visit the Hermitage of San Barnaba in Gamogna, a medieval monastic complex built in a panoramic spot of rare beauty, a short walk from the northern border of the Casentinesi Forests National Park. The hermitage constitutes the hypothetical pinnacle of an ideal chain of places of worship that dot and characterize the Park, a route culminating at the southern end at the Sanctuary of La Verna, also just outside the Park boundaries. Historical description by Luca Onofri, editor of the volume "La croce, la spada, il giglio" (published by Il Ponte Vecchio), an interesting book co-authored with three other young researchers passionate about the history of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines. https://www.ilpontevecchio.com/home/2...
