A Visual treat of Hariye gati in Ragamalika - M Balamuralikrishna - BVR Rao - BVB Sai - Balachander

Hairyé gati sakala charācharamulaku - Rāgamālika - Adi tālam Here is an offering, a composition of Dr. Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna (BMK) on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmasthami. In this exquisite video, BMK is accompanied on the violin by Sri. B V Raghavendra Rao, Sri. B V Balasai on the flute and Sri. M Balachander of BVB, London on the Mridangam. The rāgamālika comprises four rāgas – Révagupti, Kāmbhóji, Shuddha dhanyāsi and Hamsānandi. The chittasvram after each charanam has an interesting progression. The second stanza in the rāga Kāmbhóji ends with a chittasvaram in Kāmbhóji and Révagupti. The third stanza in the rāga Shuddha dhanyāsi ends with a chittasvaram in Shuddha dhanyāsi followed by Kāmbhóji and Révagupti. The last stanza in the rāga Hamsānandi ends with a chittasvaram in rāgas Hamsānandi, Shuddha dhanyāsi followed by Kāmbhóji and Révagupti. Rāga – Shuddha dhanyāsi āyā yugamula dharmamu nilupaga avatāramulanu dālchina daivamu haya vāhanudai kaliyuga manduna alamélu mangā pativai velasina 4. Rāga – Hamsānandi Bhasmāsurulu naya vanchakulu asahana shūrulu palu Shishupāluru patti bhādhinchi nitti tarunamuna pālana séyutakevaru mākevaru The only refuge to all animate and inanimate beings and even for the creator Brahma and the annihilator Rudra is Hari. Hari, the pretty child, who holds a flute in the hand, entreating the three worlds with sweet strains of music that makes forget oneself. The Lord who incarnates in each age to stabilize Dharma and one with a horse as the vehicle is renowned in the Kali yuga as the consort of Alamélu manga (Lord Venkateshwara). Hari is the one who protects the pious and subdues people like deceitful Bhasmāsura and the unendurably valiant Shishupāla.
