I Had To Beat This Super Expert Level In One Session... [SMM2]

Weekly Top 5 Popular Super Expert #204 | Super Mario Maker 2 This week had two levels that stuck with me for completely different reasons. The opening level, 1800 by Mor, introduced me to one of the strangest pieces of tech I've seen in a while. A New Soup speedrun built around a pixel-perfect lineup and bumper interaction that I just could not consistently understand at first. I ended up doing something I almost never do… rebuilding the level in the editor so I could study the setup and figure out what was actually happening. It was frustrating, fascinating, and honestly really rewarding once things started clicking. Then came the finale. King Ramses' Curse 8-1. 0.20% clear rate. TeamShell difficulty 3.5. Massive sections. One checkpoint. Long technical sequences with shell control, shell jumps, reclaim setups, drops, choke rooms, and two back-to-back moments that absolutely drained me. And something I talked about in this video that I don't think about enough: Playing hard levels for fun and playing hard levels for a video are not the same thing. When I beat Doomsday a year and a half ago, I played casually over multiple days and took breaks whenever I wanted. This time I had one recording session, footage to review, editing to do, a thumbnail to make, and a deadline in my head the whole time. I ended up recording for around 1 hour and 45 minutes and got more honest than usual about how creating videos changes the experience of playing difficult levels. Thanks for watching and letting me share these moments with you every week. Week of 5/25/26 5. 1800 by Mor — 2RM-G0V-D5G 4. Grass-top Grove (Kaizo Lite) by SupaMakaT — V92-84W-SKF 3.
