My Dad demonstrates how to make shingles out of aluminum soda cans. Many of you ask, "Why do you bake them?" After the cans are cut, the aluminum has a slight tendency to return back to its curved form. Also, all the handling of the cans can cause some minor dents and wrinkles. Heating (baking) the material helps it to "relax" or flatten out.
