What is important for winning? What does basketball mean to me? Takashi Ideguchi Head coach of the Fukuoka Daiichi High School boys' basketball team. Born in 1963 in Fukuoka Prefecture. He graduated from Seinan Gakuin High School and went on to Nippon Sport Science University. After graduating from university, he was assigned to Nakamura Gakuen Girls' High School in his hometown of Fukuoka Prefecture. He then took over at Fukuoka Daiichi High School in 1994, where he founded the boys' basketball team. In 1998, his fifth year at the position, the team made its first appearance at the Inter-High School Championships. He led the team to the national championship at the 2004 Inter-High School Championships, elevating the school to one of the nation's top teams. He is a legendary coach in the high school basketball world, having produced many of Japan's leading point guards, including Yuki Kawamura (Tokai University).
