Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman engaged in a heated debate with Eddy Martono, Chairman of the Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association (GAPKI). This heated debate occurred during a Coordination Meeting on the Development and Efforts to Stabilize Palm Oil Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Prices on Monday, June 8, 2026. At that time, Minister Amran asked why palm oil prices had fallen and remained at their lowest levels simply because of the president's announcement regarding one-stop exports. Amran said he understood that entrepreneurs were initially shocked, and the market reacted. However, he disagreed that despite numerous government explanations, prices remained at their lowest levels, even though world prices and downstream processing remained high. When the GAPKI chairman wanted to answer further, Minister Amran immediately interrupted him, stating that this was a matter of the livelihoods of millions of farmers.
