SEYMOUR BERNSTEIN: "Moonlight Sonata", 1st movement
In the first movement of the so-called "Moonlight Sonata," Beethoven seems to have captured the sadness of the world through musical notation. I don't know of any other composition comparable to this one. Throughout my performing life, I have tried to capture my concept of this profound work. Now at the age of 93, I am happy to say that I have come closer. Seymour
